Channel History
NorthWestTrees Gaming was founded on September 21, 2013. However, the channel remained unused until June 21, 2014, when I released a low-quality video for the Tekkit Classic series, which has since been deleted. Over the years, I have progressed and improved the quality of the content I create, always striving to move forward with a range of content for the gaming community. In November 2014, I started creating MCreator tutorials, which eventually led to a partnership with Pylo, MCreator's parent company.
By April 3, 2022, I had close to 6,800 subscribers on YouTube, with many more people watching my videos on the main channel without being subscribed. In November 2022, I posted my first video on a new channel called NWT Projects. This channel remains my go-to channel for my MCreator modding projects and video updates for those mods. In December 2022, I created a music channel where I have posted some music I made using music software. This channel is more of a side hobby than a dedicated channel.
Between 2014 and 2023, the main channel was used for both gaming and MCreator videos. In March 2023, I moved my gaming content to a dedicated channel for Let's Plays, which I have continued uploading to and improving since.
In March 2025, I started learning GDScript and Godot, which I found relatively easy to learn after creating MCreator tutorials for close to a decade. I then created a dedicated channel called NWT Studios, where I post game development updates.
As of August 2026, the combined subscriber total across all of my channels has reached 15,441, of which 14,433 subscribers are on the MCreator channel, 681 are on the Gaming channel, 228 are on the Projects channel, 82 are on the Music channel, and 17 are on the Studios channel. The total number of videos created across all of these channels currently stands at 1,657.
My Story
I was born in Vancouver, BC, on September 25, 1994. I grew up with a low income, living with my mom. My father was physically and mentally abusive and did drugs. I have lived in British Columbia, Canada, all my life, not that I had much choice because my father had the court require me to stay in the province until I was 19. During summer school breaks, I traveled to Kamloops to camp with my grandma and my mom. My wider family is dysfunctional, but my immediate family is really good.
I was diagnosed with learning disabilities at an early age, I believe when I was 6 or 8. Though this has not kept me from trying over and over again to excel at learning complex things. I graduated from Chilliwack Secondary School with A Honors, though this had to be done through an adult graduation program due to my learning difficulties.
Education-wise, I have taken art classes throughout my life. In high school, I studied Drafting 11, 12, and IDS; Tourism 11, 12, and IDS; Ceramics 11, 12, and IDS; Culinary Arts 11 and 12; Math 10 and 11; Communications 11 and 12; and, of course, Art 10 and 11. I also took PE 10, though it was not the best experience due to asthma, but I did what I could. I also took a pilot course for animation and game design, though that was at the tail end of my high school education.
Post-education, I have not really done too much. I have been learning GDScript in my spare time and working on learning the Godot game engine in hopes of publishing a game one day. I have also been learning history through some history channels like The History Guy, Weird History, and some of Simon Whistler's channels, which cover many abstract events. Places, for example, is one of my go-to channels for odd places, as well as Biographics at times and Into the Shadows, which focuses more on dark history. I like to fill my brain with useless information.
From an early age, I was playing The Sims and Grand Theft Auto, though I rarely play those games these days. My favorite games these days are often indie games or games made by small teams, such as No Man's Sky, Medieval Dynasty, Going Medieval, RimWorld, Stardew Valley, and American Truck Simulator. My first PC was a Windows 98 PC. Over time, I got my own Windows XP PC and moved up to Windows 7, then Windows 10, and now Windows 11. I did not build my own PC until recently. I was always worried about how complex it could be, but it turns out it was not too complex at all.
I am fond of cats and have never been much of a dog person. I have had cats all my life, starting when I was 6 years old. My first cat was named Tommy. He passed away in my teens due to old age. My second cat was a bit younger than Tommy, and his name was Oscar, aka "Midgit." He had many nicknames, like "Pain in the Bum," but he was a good cat. He had to be put down as he was getting old and losing control of his bladder quite often, but he lived to around 15. I also have two more recent cats, Jasper, aka "Jazz," and Jakob, aka "Jake." Both are boys, with Jasper being a tuxedo cat and Jake being a tabby.
I co-rent with my mom, as neither of us could afford our own place separately. It has worked out pretty well financially for us, and we have become close friends over the years. Relationship-wise, I am single and have not really found the right person. It may or may not happen. I have always found it hard to trust people, especially in a relationship at that level, but for now, at least, I am good where I am.
To summarize my life, I would say it has been complex, hard at times, but also pretty good.
